Military intervention across Mexico border

The role of immigration into the United States, especially across the border with Mexico, has become a major issue in the 2024 election. The contribution of U.S. weapons flowing southward, exacerbating the conditions that drive northward migration, has entered the public debate. But, more often, discussion revolves around closing the border to not only stop northward migration but also drugs and other products. Some have argued that the United States should use U.S. forces in operations inside Mexican territory as a way to "secure the border" and disable cartels. 

Here, we track whether candidates support U.S. military intervention directly in Mexican territory.
