Military Assistance to Ukraine
Williamson is in favor of military assistance to Ukraine. It is unclear if she supports increased assistance.
Question: It seems like the United States is backing an endless war with a blank check for Ukraine but not serious efforts by Biden to actually try to accelerate diplomacy.
"First of all the United States doesn't have the power you know neither Ukraine nor Russia are interested right now in sitting down at the table. So it's not like the United States could just say make that happen. The money, I don't think it's accurate to say we're giving a blank check. We are giving financial support and military support. There is no doubt about that which I support. The same way that other leftists in Europe support. The green party of Germany supports the giving of those tanks.
...I do not agree that withdrawing support from Ukraine is responsible to democracy. It is responsible to the West"
Arms to Israel
Williamson's position on the issue is unclear. However, she does appear to call for ending support for Israel.
If Saudi Arabia agreed to normalize relations with Israel but requested a guarantee from the United States to defend the Kingdom militarily in exchange, would you seek to ratify a treaty making that commitment?
“No. The U.S. cannot get involved in another war in the Middle East – especially not in order to defend Saudi Arabia, arguably the worst human rights violator in the region. It is time the U.S. stops aiding Saudi Arabia and Israel in their egregious human rights violations.”
"I have no trust in the leadership of "Bibi" Netanyahu. I'm concerned his ideas are what in large part got us into this mess and I do not trust that the way he sees this his militaristic bombastic smug and arrogant idea about what should happen now. This is not the path that I would join with in partnership. Rather, I would be begin making calls to world leaders particularly Arab leaders but others as well. There needs to be a multi-polar response here."

"Innocent civilians who had nothing to do with the actions of the Israeli government are, even as I write this, either being tortured or killed or are dead already. Children have been taken hostage. A nation is terrorized. (...) And yes, I know. These events did not occur in a vacuum. I could write about — and indeed I have, and at length — the myriad injustices Palestinians have endured at the hands of Israel. (...) I will have much to say in the coming days about what is happening in Israel and how I feel the United States should respond. For now, I stand with Israel. And I stand with the Palestinian people. I do not stand with Hamas, nor will I ever. For their cause is not justice. Their cause is terror."
Arms to Saudi Arabia
Williamson's position on the issue is unclear. However, she does appear to call for ending support for Saudi Arabia.
Arms to Taiwan
Our research has not identified a clear position on this. Williamson has, however, called for the U.S. to stop encirclement efforts against China.
"While I am deeply concerned about China’s authoritarianism and serious violations of human rights, I do not think that China is interested in invading the U.S. or in starting a war with us. While we should do what we can through peaceful diplomacy to lessen Chinese human rights violations, we cannot start World War III between two nuclear-armed countries. Our military must stop trying to encircle China in the South China Sea. Instead, we must talk to China and seek peaceful coexistence.”
Military intervention across Mexican border
Williamson's is opposed to using U.S. force in Mexico.
If elected, would you request an authorization from Congress to use military force against drug cartels in Mexico?
“No. The U.S. has invaded and militarily intervened in Latin America time after time, and it has only brought violence and misery and fueled the immigration that we now complain about. It is time we reject the imperialist Monroe Doctrine, which declared Latin America our backyard. It is time we respect our neighbors to the south and stop invading their countries.”
Position in the Campaign Website
"Those who scapegoat immigrants, like all demagogues throughout history, are demonizing others to increase their own power. The hardening of the American heart is far more dangerous than the softening of our borders.
...Although there are certainly reasonable changes that need to be made in our immigration policies, the idea that we have a crisis is simply a canard. Calling our border situation a crisis is simply a means of distracting Americans from seeing who and what is really leeching our resources, who and what is really undercutting our power, and who and what is really stealing our democracy.
...Another canard is that building a wall across our entire southern border is needed. In fact, unauthorized immigrants are increasingly entering the United States perfectly legally, then simply overstaying visas. No increase in border security will impact this most common route into our nation. Yes, we can invest in smart border security when it’s actually needed, while also looking at underlying causes of the displacement of so many people south of our border, including our long failed war on drugs, which has created rampant crime and violence among our neighbors."
