Sara San Martín Romero is an educator and advocate on disarmament and gun control at the Centro de Estudios Ecuménicos, México, a member of the international board of the Control Arms coalition and a member of the Mexican network #PazSinArmas. She has recently contributed to reports on the impacts of guns in Mexico, including as related to gender based violence and transparency (see here). San Martín Romero has for decades championed efforts at peacebuilding and community action with civil society members and participated in efforts to create local, regional and global agreements. She holds a masters degree in communications and politics from La Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Xochimilco and a education degree from La Universidad de las Américas Puebla
