Josh Ruebner is Director of Government Relations at the Institute for Middle East Understanding and an adjunct lecturer in the Justice and Peace Studies program at Georgetown University. He is also a frequent contributor to various publications on US foreign policy toward the Middle East. Previously, he was Managing Director of Americans for Justice in Palestine Action, Policy Director of the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights, and Analyst in Middle East Affairs at Congressional Research Service. His areas of expertise include US military aid to Israel and US security assistance to the Palestinian Authority.
Ruebner is the author of Shattered Hopes: Obama’s Failure to Broker Israeli-Palestinian Peace (Verso, 2013) and Israel: Democracy or Apartheid State? (Interlink Books, 2017).
He is currently pursuing his PhD in Palestine Studies at the University of Exeter, and holds an M.A. in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a B.A. in Political Science and Near East Studies from the University of Michigan.
