International and Regional Trade

The international arms trade is truly a global one, with nearly all countries participating in some way, as suppliers, purchasers, and/or transit locations. The United States is the largest arms trader globally, but great variation exists within and between regions in terms of the types of weapons traded, suppliers, and the role of weapons in fostering peace and stability.
