Arms Trade Treaty
Cindy Ebbs is the former Director of Control Arms. Ebbs has worked in the field of public international law and policy for almost 20 years, in areas such as human rights and humanitarian law, transitional justice, arms control and humanitarian disarmament. She joined Control Arms in New York, first as Coordinator of the ATT Legal project during the Arms Trade Treaty negotiations in 2012, and continued as Legal Consultant and Senior Policy Adviser. After working with the Public International Law & Policy Group and the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, Ebbs returned to Control Arms as Acting Co-Director, where she sets policy priorities, designs programs, drafts legal and policy briefs and coordinates and conducts advocacy in support of the universalization and implementation of the ATT.
Ebbs is also an experienced commercial litigator and licensed to practice law in New York. She earned her JD from Georgetown University Law Center, her MA in International Affairs from American University's School of International Service, and her MPA from New York University's Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She also earned her BA from Davidson College and enjoys skiing, live music and spending time with her family.
