Request for Proposal - Revamp Expert Pages

The Forum on the Arms Trade is seeking proposals for a short-term consultancy to revamp its expert pages. The goal is to make these pages more dynamic, easier to search, and editable by the experts themselves. Please see this 5-minute video for a more detailed explanation of the work needed. The Forum would also like to explore more advanced capabilities, if achievable within budget:

Core Work
  • Revamp expert pages for:
    • An improved landing page
    • Auto-refreshed individual expert pages
    • Improved search term flexibility (if possible, allow experts to create own terms)
    • Ability for experts to update pages themselves
  • We are open to using other platforms (ex. Drupal, WordPress) for these pages
  • Once a system is set up and populated, outside consultancy assistance will no longer be needed

Advanced Work
  • Simplified population of “publications” to individual expert pages, potentially linked to the Forum’s newsletter and an underlying database (if viable)
  • Inclusion of additional types of sources aside from written publications

The proposal need not be lengthy. We would like an indication of how you recommend the work be accomplished, as well as samples of work indicating your capabilities. If your proposed work includes migrating our current pages to a new system, we would like an indication of whether you would do that. If not, please indicate what resources you believe we would need to do so. Ideally, your proposal would include population of the new versions of these pages. Please also provide a timeline.

Submit proposals to [email protected] marked with the subject “expert pages revamp”. Clarifying questions may also be sent to that email.

Our one-time budget for this work is in the mid four-digit range (US$). We envision reviewing proposals as they come in, and hope the project would take six weeks or fewer once it begins.

It is easiest for us to work with consultants in the United States.
