The Forum on the Arms Trade is seeking applicants for an internship to volunteer up to 20 hours per week starting soon and ending in mid December. This internship is 100% remote. To help defray expenses incurred in connection with volunteering at the Forum, a stipend of $20 per hour will be provided. Interns are responsible for reporting and payment of all taxes due or owing to any taxing authority pursuant to this internship. A tax form will be provided for reporting purposes by the Center for International Policy (CIP), the fiscal sponsor of the Forum as of October 1, 2023,

Duties:
The intern in this role will have the opportunity to work primarily with Jeff Abramson, director for the Forum on the Arms Trade, on conventional arms trade issues to:
- Research policy developments on the arms trade and write updates for the Forum on the Arms Trade’s website.
- Carry out media and social media outreach on behalf of the Forum, including preparation of a weekly e-newsletter.
- Maintain and update internal listservs, communicate with listed experts and emerging experts, and send out key messages.
- Additional administrative tasks related to the website, email message service (Constant Contact), and other events and activities of the Forum.
Qualifications:
- Be near-completion of undergraduate education, pursuing an advanced degree, or a recent graduate
- A strong interest in arms sales, security assistance, and human rights, as well as the intersections with other topics, such as corruption and environmental issues. Previous experience with these issue areas is especially valuable.
- Be a detail-oriented person with excellent writing and communication skills.
- Growth-oriented, highly motivated, and enjoy collaborative projects
- Experience with Google Suite, social media including basic web maintenance, as well as Spanish fluency, are a plus.
