Dan Gettinger is the Director of Publications and Communications at the Vertical Flight Society and an independent consultant. Dan's research focuses on drone proliferation, emerging aerospace technologies, and defense spending. He is the co-founder and former co-director of the Center for the Study of the Drone at Bard College. There, he led a team that examined and reported on the complex opportunities and challenges presented by unmanned systems in both the military and civilian sphere. He is author and co-author of multiple reports and books, including Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles: Current Types, Ordnance and Operations and "The Drone Databook." Dan is regularly quoted in major media outlets. He is based in Washington, D.C.
