Amanda Klasing is National Director of Government Relations and Advocacy at Amnesty International USA, where she leads a team of advocacy directors and fellows engaging with the United States government on global human rights issues and to advance a human rights policy agenda. Prior to joining Amnesty International USA, she launched and led the US Democracy Initiative in 2022 and co-directed the Women’s Rights Division from 2018 to 2021 at Human Rights Watch, where she also was a fellow, researcher and senior researcher. She has served as a social justice fellow at RFK Human Rights. She is a founding member of the Human Rights Methodology Lab.
Klasing holds a Master’s degree in social sciences from the University of Chicago, and a law degree from New York University.
